Step 3: Coat
Application of Protective Coating Layer
Two layers of a specialized acrylic based coating are applied. The final layer is a Cool Roof coating. The physical characteristics of these layers of elastomeric (heavy duty acrylic) coating are matched to the foam to maximize the performance of the roof system. The layers of coating protect the foam from the gradual ultraviolet degradation that would otherwise slowly wear away the roof surface.
The final step: specialized elastomeric coating layer is applied.
The protective coating can be renewed to prolong the service life of a foam roof throughout the life of the building. This is one of the most remarkable features of a Dura-Foam roof.
The finished product will last the lifetime of the building with proper maintenance.
