In the USA, most power plants use some form of fossil fuel to generate electricity. If your home or business utilizes solar power, you're helping the environment. Why is foam roofing ideal for solar?

High reflectivity and longevity make foam roofing the ideal candidate for solar power. For an efficient solar electric generation environment, you want an area that is as bright as possible. Coincidentally, a foam roof is a Cool Roof system that is not only reflective, but also reduces air conditioning loads saving "tons" of electricity. Before installing solar power, you want to make sure that you have a roof system that will last for at least 30 years. Temporarily removing solar panels to replace roofing is very expensive. You can avoid this expense with foam roofing since our 30 year-old roofs are still in excellent condition. We expect our roofs to last as long as the buildings upon which they are installed (at least 100 years). To achieve this longevity, additional roof coating should be applied at least once every 20 years. These roof coatings are typically applied without disturbing the solar array.
