Application of Protective Coating Layer
Two layers of a specialized acrylic based coating are applied. The final layer is a Cool Roof coating. The physical characteristics of these layers of elastomeric (heavy duty acrylic) coating are matched to the foam to maximize the performance of the roof system. The layers of coating protect the foam from the gradual ultraviolet degradation that could slowly wear away the roof surface. The protective coating can be renewed to prolong the service life of a foam roof throughout the life of the building. This is one of the most remarkable features of a Dura-Foam roof.
