Cool Roofing

Reflective Coatings Makes Foam Roofing Even Cooler

People who live in tropical climates usually wear light-colored or white clothing to help keep themselves cool. They know that light colors reflect heat and sunlight; whereas dark colors absorb heat and light. Buildings are similar to people. If you have a dark-colored roof, your building will be hotter than if it had a light-colored roof. We have learned from experience that the Dura-Foam Roofing system better shields our customers from the elements when cool roof coatings are applied.

Durafoam Foam Roofs Keep You Cool in Summer and Warm in Winter
Cool Roofs reduce the roof surface temperature by up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit!

Dura-Foam Roofing Applies Cool Roof Coatings

The top layer of the Dura-Foam Roofing System is a Cool Roof coating. This material very effectively reflects the sun's energy from the roof surface. White is the most common color, but tan and light gray colors are often used in hill areas where roof surfaces are more visible from neighboring properties. Our Cool Roofs also have high emissivity, allowing them to emit infrared energy.

Cool Roof Coatings Reflect Heat

Cool Roofs reduce the roof surface temperature by up to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, thereby reducing the heat transferred into the building below. This helps to reduce energy costs (by keeping attics and ducts cooler), improve occupant comfort, cut maintenance costs, increase the life cycle of the roof, and reduce urban heat islands along with associated smog.

Cut Your Expenses: Foam Roofing + Cool Roof Coatings

During months that require cooling, customers with air conditioned buildings typically find their energy bills drop by 30% to 60% after installing foam roofing with cool roof coating. Dura-Foam customers without air conditioning report 10° to 20°F cooler indoor temperatures on hot summer days (see testimonials).
